With the powerful BMW inline-6 S58 engine, the latest M3 model is making waves, setting itself apart from its predecessors. For the first time, you can opt for all-wheel drive, breaking new ground for this iconic brand. As the go-to chassis for Dinan modifications, the G8x demanded a fresh approach to truly stand out from the crowd. This was no small feat, but we were excited to take on the challenge. After months of thoughtful design and rigorous testing, we’re thrilled to introduce our first ambitious project: the Dinan G8x Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake.

This intake is all about balancing function, sound, and aesthetics. It looks stunning and sounds incredible, but it also performs exceptionally well. With a 12% increase in airflow to the engine and no negative impact on inlet temperatures or pressure, the Dinan G8x system truly delivers. By allowing more unimpeded air into the engine, it helps the turbos work more efficiently, meaning they have to do less to generate the same power. This opens up exciting possibilities for those looking to modify their builds.

At the heart of our design is a unique plenum that replaces the separate driver and passenger intake ducts found in the stock setup. This innovative approach combines the two into one larger, streamlined pathway, increasing volume by 50% while simplifying installation and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The central plenum leads to enlarged airboxes that feature 11% larger cotton air filters, ensuring excellent filtration while maximizing airflow. The filters are fed by the factory grill inlets and additional cutouts on the top of each airbox lid. We meticulously analyzed the semi-open design to confirm that these added inlets wouldn't negatively affect temperatures or airflow. But the best part? Those secondary airbox passages let the exhilarating induction sounds escape from their former plastic confines, creating an unforgettable auditory experience during hard acceleration, deceleration, or even when just spooling up.

Beyond its performance benefits, the Dinan G8x M2/M3/M4 intake system stands out for its striking appearance. A quick glance reveals the thoughtful design that seamlessly integrates with the factory engine bay while elevating it to a whole new level. The intake system mirrors the sharp, angular lines found throughout the engine, achieving a true OEM+ look and feel. We’ve used a 2x2 twill carbon fiber weave, available in both gloss and matte finishes—something new for Dinan, making this intake truly unique.
