Say hello to GFB's DV+ – the straightforward solution that lets you keep what works while replacing what doesn’t!
Patent and Design Patent Pending
GFB has expanded the DV+ range with a direct-fit diverter solution crafted just for the VW Mk7 Golf R and Audi 8V S3 (2013-on). These models feature a larger turbo compared to the GTI and A3, which is fantastic for performance but poses challenges for fitting diverter valves. The space taken up by the bigger turbo means the usual GFB T9351 DV+ isn't a fit unless you're ready to make modifications.
We believe in a hassle-free experience, so we’ve engineered a better solution! The T9359 DV+ boasts a custom billet aluminum body that, despite being larger than the T9351, cleverly repositions the solenoid to ensure a perfect fit while keeping that OE look – all while delivering the performance benefits you expect from DV+.
Rest easy knowing we've handled the engineering. The factory solenoid coil is impressive (after all, the ECU opens it faster than any pneumatic valve), so why replace it? The real issue lies with the plastic piston valve mechanism. GFB's DV+ addresses this by replacing just the valve parts with an anodized billet aluminum housing and a precisely machined brass piston.
The outcome? You’ll experience sharper throttle response, lightning-fast valve actuation, and the ability to hold as much boost as you can throw at it. Want to know more about the DV+ journey? Read on!
Unlike other manufacturers that suggest replacing the entire system with traditional pneumatic valves (which require lengthy vacuum hose runs and extra parts), GFB's DV+ offers a more responsive, cost-effective, and simpler installation. Plus, you won’t have to worry about compressor surge or turbo flutter, and there’s no need for different springs or frequent rebuilds.
Modern European cars rely on ECU-controlled solenoid-type diverter valves, which is a great concept since these valves react quickly and only open when necessary. However, there have been multiple revisions due to reliability issues since their introduction on VAG vehicles in 2006. The latest revision, C, found in the Mk7 R and 8V S3, still has room for improvement. While it's stronger than earlier versions, it’s limited by its operating principle – being a direct solenoid-operated valve means it can only be either open or shut. Unfortunately, cars don’t operate like that; your accelerator isn’t a simple switch, and the factory diverter struggles with partial throttle closure.
With these challenges in mind, it’s understandable why some aftermarket manufacturers opt for complete replacements. However, their kits may be stronger but often come with slower response times and lower flow rates, making them more of a compromise than a solution.
GFB takes a different route. The DV+ addresses factory valve issues with a simple yet effective design. By keeping the factory solenoid, you retain all the benefits of the original system while replacing valve parts with robust metal components. This ensures strength and reliability, no matter how much boost you run.
But that’s not all! Our unique "pilot-actuation" system allows the solenoid to control the air pressure used to open and close the piston. This means the DV+ will operate reliably, regardless of the boost pressure. The valve opens progressively based on boost, providing better throttle response than the factory valve, which can only open and shut.
