The factory-fitted solenoid coil is fantastic—it allows for quick ECU response. But the valve mechanism? That’s where the trouble lies. GFB's DV+ steps in by replacing those vulnerable valve parts with a robust anodised billet aluminum housing, paired with a precisely machined brass piston.

Some manufacturers suggest replacing the entire system with a traditional pneumatic valve. This method involves long vacuum hose runs, extra parts to tap into the intake manifold vacuum, and a different solenoid valve to actuate the pneumatic valve. All these components can slow down performance, increase costs, and complicate installation.
In contrast, GFB's DV+ is designed to be more responsive, budget-friendly, and easy to install—without causing compressor surge or turbo flutter.
Many modern European cars rely on ECU-controlled solenoid-type diverter valves, which is a great idea since they react quickly and only open when necessary. However, there are a few drawbacks:
Furthermore, the OE solenoid is directly linked to the valve mechanism, which isn’t ideal. Neither the solenoid nor the return spring is robust enough to operate the valve reliably at high boost levels.
Given these issues, it’s no wonder some aftermarket manufacturers opt to replace the entire diverter or switch to a pneumatic system. But while their kits might be tougher, they often sacrifice response speed and flow, leaving you with a compromise rather than a true solution.

The DV+ tackles the factory valve's issues with a straightforward and effective design. By retaining the factory solenoid, you keep all the benefits of the original system. But that’s not all! Instead of having the solenoid directly actuate the valve, we’ve introduced a clever "pilot-actuation" system. This means the solenoid only needs to control airflow through a small passage, which then opens and closes the piston. This design ensures that the DV+ operates reliably, regardless of the boost level.
This feature also enhances the factory system by allowing the valve to open progressively in response to boost pressure. Unlike the factory valve, which can only fully open or shut, the DV+ opens just enough to get the job done, resulting in improved throttle response.
