Say hello to GFB's DV+ solution, designed to keep what works and replace what doesn’t. It's as simple as that!
Worldwide Patent and Design Patent Pending
GFB is excited to expand the DV+ range with a direct-fit solution for the factory diverter valve, which can be a weak link in many European vehicles. The factory-fitted solenoid coil works great, allowing the ECU to open it faster than any pneumatic valve. So, why replace it? The issue lies with the valve mechanism itself. GFB’s DV+ addresses this by swapping out only the valve parts for a durable anodised billet aluminium housing, complete with a precisely machined brass piston.
The outcome? You’ll enjoy sharper throttle response, lightning-fast valve actuation, and the ability to hold as much boost as you can handle. Curious about the DV+ journey? Check out the next page!
Other manufacturers often suggest replacing the entire system with a traditional pneumatic valve. This approach involves lengthy vacuum hose runs, extra parts for tapping into the intake manifold vacuum, and potentially a different solenoid valve or a ballast resistor to connect to the OE wiring loom. All these additional components can lead to a system that is slower, less responsive, and more expensive, not to mention a hassle to install.
In contrast, GFB's DV+ solution is designed to be responsive, budget-friendly, and straightforward to install. Plus, you won't experience compressor surge or turbo flutter, and there’s no need for different springs or frequent rebuilds!
Many modern European cars come equipped with ECU-controlled solenoid-type diverter valves, which is a solid concept. These valves can react quickly and only open when necessary. However, they do have their drawbacks.
Typically, you'll find two types of solenoid-actuated diverter valves in VAG and European cars, both of which have their limitations. The solenoid in the OE diverter is directly connected to the valve mechanism, which isn’t the best setup since neither the solenoid nor the return spring can reliably open and close the valve at high boost.
With these challenges in mind, it’s easy to see why some aftermarket manufacturers believe the best option is to replace the factory diverter entirely. Unfortunately, while their kits may be stronger, their slower response and reduced flow don’t justify the added cost and complexity. It’s more of a compromise than a true solution.
GFB has taken a different route, delivering a complete solution that addresses existing issues while boosting performance without breaking the bank. The DV+ tackles the factory valve's shortcomings with a simple yet effective approach. By retaining the factory solenoid, you keep all the advantages of the stock system, while replacing the valve parts with durable metal components ensures reliability, no matter how much boost you throw at it.
But that’s not all! Instead of having the solenoid directly actuate the valve, we’ve introduced a unique "pilot-actuation" system. This means the solenoid controls the air pressure that opens and closes the piston, ensuring reliable operation regardless of the boost levels. The valve opens progressively in response to boost pressure, only opening as much as needed, leading to better throttle response compared to the factory valve, which simply opens and closes without partial openings.
