Can you believe it’s been 20 years since the world first saw a dual outlet blow-off valve? Let’s take a trip back to 1998—a time before Justin Bieber, Y2K, and even Google. Back then, GFB's founding engineer, John Adrian, faced a frustrating problem: his new WRX was stalling with an atmosphere-venting BOV. Tired of the hassle, he decided enough was enough and set out to create a solution. That’s when the "Hybrid" was born!

This groundbreaking design quickly became the flagship model for Go Fast Bits. What made it special? The Hybrid features two venting ports that are cleverly staged, allowing the recirc port to open before the atmo port. This design helps prevent backfiring and stalling on cars equipped with a MAF sensor, all while delivering that signature blow-off sound when you push your car to its limits.

Legacy of Excellence

The success of the Hybrid was nothing short of remarkable, inspiring many other BOV brands to adopt its innovative technology. It paved the way for GFB’s next big leap—the venting bias adjustable BOV, known as the Respons TMS, followed by the electronically adjustable Deceptor Pro.

While the spotlight has shifted to these newer models, we’re thrilled to announce that the Hybrid is making a comeback! In honor of its 20th anniversary, GFB is reintroducing this iconic valve, a true gem in the turbo world.

A Special Recognition

As a birthday gift to the Hybrid, its importance was recognized among a field of 3,000 entries by a panel of international judges at the 2017 SEMA show, where it proudly received a Global Media Award.

The new Hybrid retains the same staged venting outlets that made the original a hit, but now you can configure it for full recirc, full atmosphere, or a 50/50 split.
