Can you believe it’s been 20 years since the world's first dual outlet blow-off valve hit the scene? Let’s take a little trip back to 1998—a time before Justin Bieber, Y2K fears, and even Google! Back then, GFB's founding engineer, John Adrian, was frustrated with his new WRX stalling due to an atmosphere-venting BOV. He decided enough was enough and set out to create a solution—a dual port BOV!
Introducing the "Hybrid," the flagship model that put Go Fast Bits on the map. This innovative valve featured two venting ports cleverly designed so that the recirc port opened before the atmo port. This brilliant setup helped prevent backfiring and stalling for cars equipped with a MAF sensor, all while delivering that iconic blow-off sound when you really push the pedal to the metal.
The success of the Hybrid was monumental, leading to its technology being embraced by nearly every other BOV brand out there. It paved the way for GFB’s next groundbreaking product, the venting bias adjustable BOV known as the Respons TMS, and later, the electronically adjustable Deceptor Pro.
While the spotlight has shifted to these newer products, the Hybrid has been on a bit of a hiatus. But guess what? In celebration of 20 years since this influential BOV changed the turbo world, GFB is bringing the Hybrid back! And as a special birthday surprise, it earned a Global Media Award at the 2017 SEMA show, recognized from a pool of 3,000 entries by an esteemed panel of international judges.
The new Hybrid maintains the same staged venting outlets as the original but adds some exciting features. You can now configure it for full recirc, full atmosphere, or a balanced 50/50 venting. Plus, it comes with a wide range of direct bolt-on kits for popular vehicles, all at an affordable price. Don’t miss your chance to grab a piece of automotive history for your car!
