Can you believe it? It's been 20 years since the world's first dual outlet blow-off valve hit the scene! Let's take a little trip back in time to 1998—a year filled with iconic moments like Justin Bieber's debut, the Y2K scare, and the birth of Google. In the midst of all that, GFB's founding engineer, John Adrian, faced a challenge: his new WRX was stalling because of an atmosphere-venting BOV. Frustrated, he decided the world needed a dual port BOV, and just like that, the Hybrid was born!

The Birth of the Hybrid

This groundbreaking valve quickly became the flagship model for Go Fast Bits. With its two venting ports cleverly designed so that the recirc port opens before the atmo port, it helped prevent backfiring and stalling on MAF sensor-equipped cars. Plus, it still delivered that signature blow-off sound when you really pushed the pedal to the metal.

A Legacy of Success

The Hybrid was such a game-changer that its technology has been embraced by nearly every other BOV brand out there. It paved the way for GFB’s next innovations, like the venting bias adjustable BOV, now known as the Respons TMS, and the electronically adjustable Deceptor Pro.

After a little time away from the spotlight, the Hybrid is making its grand return! To celebrate two decades of this influential BOV, GFB is bringing back the Hybrid with all its original charm and some exciting new features. In fact, it was recognized among 3,000 entries by a panel of international judges and awarded a Global Media Award at the 2017 SEMA show—what a birthday present!
