The PRL Motorsports Big Bore High Volume Intake System (PRL-HCR-INT-HVI-B) for the Honda Civic Type-R (FK8) is engineered for optimal airflow and performance. This system features a robust 6-inch cone filter and a two-piece MAF housing equipped with velocity stacks, ensuring maximum air intake while maintaining proper fuel trims.

Material and Design

Constructed from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the rotomolded air box integrates seamlessly with the factory air duct and seal, enhancing airflow and minimizing heat soak. The custom-molded 4-ply silicone components ensure secure connections without obstructing airflow, providing a reliable setup for performance enthusiasts.

MAF Housing Specifications

The Big Bore MAF housing is the largest available on the market, capable of supporting over 600 horsepower. It offers a 47% increase in airflow volume compared to the stock MAF housing or the standard bore HVI MAF. Our design optimally locates the MAF sensor flange to stabilize fuel trims, making it ideal for builds aiming for 450 horsepower or more. Note that this will require calibration and MAF scaling.
